Sue Harrison
Family Liaison and Alumni Coordinator
About Me:
Sue Harrison serves as the Family Liaison and Alumni Coordinator at Wellness Recovery Center, where she brings deep compassion, lived empathy, and a strong belief in the power of connection. A proud mother of two boys, Sue co-founded a 100% donation-based nonprofit, King’s Crusade, in 2017 in honor of her brother after losing him to overdose in 2016. She also serves on several advisory boards, including her hometown’s Evesham Township Municipal Alliance. Sue is deeply committed to supporting individuals in the addiction and recovery space—particularly those utilizing state insurance—by helping them access treatment, safe and supportive housing, transportation, and ongoing community resources. She also facilitates a weekly grief support group for families who have lost loved ones, offering a space rooted in understanding, validation, and care.
Sue joined Wellness Recovery Center prior to its opening in 2023 as the Family Liaison, where she works closely with both clients and their loved ones throughout the treatment process. She facilitates client groups to build trust and rapport and leads a weekly virtual support group for families, providing education, guidance, and emotional support. Over the years, Sue has built meaningful, lasting relationships with families and has been honored to walk alongside them through some of their most challenging and transformative moments. She remains deeply connected to families even after treatment, encouraging continued participation in support groups as a vital part of long-term recovery success.
More recently, Sue expanded her role to include Alumni Coordinator, allowing her to continue supporting clients well beyond their time in treatment. In this role, she helps individuals transition back into their daily lives while fostering ongoing connection and accountability within the recovery community. Sue runs a bi-weekly alumni speaker meeting for both alumni and current clients and plans engaging events that encourage continued bonding and mutual support. She believes recovery is a personal journey, but one that should never be walked alone. A certified yoga instructor, Sue practices yoga as a consistent form of self-care and grounding, and she approaches all of her work with the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported—because lasting healing happens through connection.
